    Print and test
    • Print at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide for codes scanned at arm's length. A common rule of thumb: width ≈ scanning distance ÷ 10. A poster read from 2 m needs about 20 cm.
    • Keep the blank quiet zone (4 modules) around the code. Do not let borders, text or photos touch it.
    • Use dark modules on a light background with strong contrast. Avoid glossy laminates that cause glare under shop lights.
    • Use the SVG or PDF download for print shops; they stay sharp at any size.
    • Test the printed proof, not the screen: try at least one iPhone and one Android phone, at the real distance and in the real lighting, before printing the full run.
    • Send the generated link to a friend first (shown under Show encoded content) to check it opens the right chat.
    

    Frequently asked questions
    What number format do I use?
    Full international format without +, spaces, brackets or leading zeros. For a UAE mobile 050 123 4567, enter 971501234567. The tool strips other characters for you.
    Does the customer need to have my number saved?
    No. The wa.me link opens a chat with your number directly.
    Can I pre-fill a message?
    Yes. The message is added to the link and appears in the customer's chat box; they can edit it before sending.
    Does this work with WhatsApp Business?
    Yes. The wa.me click-to-chat link works for WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business numbers. WhatsApp is a trademark of WhatsApp LLC; this tool is not affiliated with it.
